Production Scheduler/Planner
Overview
Are you an analytical, solutions-driven Production Scheduler/Planner who thrives on problem-solving, improving systems, and keeping production running seamlessly?
Do you have hands-on experience in manufacturing processes, with a strong understanding of how scheduling and planning impact production performance?

- Develop and manage detailed production schedules for cloth manufacturing using SAP and related ERP/MRP systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve OTIF (On Time In Full) targets, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
- Coordinate daily planning activities with Production Managers, the Purchasing Manager, and Progress Chaser.
- Raise and issue work orders and relevant production documentation.
- Create forward-looking production plans (4–12 weeks) and highlight potential bottlenecks.
- Maintain and update lead times and communicate changes across departments.
- Use demand forecasts to optimise production efficiency.
- Monitor production progress, material availability, and identify shortages or constraints.
- Track and report on key operational KPIs and performance trends.
- Analyse forecast changes and material fluctuations to drive continuous improvement.
- Manage urgent customer requests and integrate them into production schedules where feasible.
- Investigate late deliveries, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives within the planning function.
- Carry out general administrative and planning duties as required.
- Proven experience in production planning/scheduling within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Strong understanding of multi-process production operations.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
- Resilient and proactive, with a drive to develop new systems or processes for improved efficiency.
- Solid grasp of planning principles and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Desirable: Experience with advanced planning and scheduling tools.
- Desirable: Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
