Dyehouse Shift Manager

We’re now looking for a Dyehouse Shift Manager to provide best in class industry standards and leadership to our dyehouse team. The Dyehouse Shift Manager will bring ideas and innovative thinking so that we can build and shape a strategy that enables the business to evolve as an international premium brand through quality, authentic and market relevant product.

With responsibility for the day to day running of the dyehouse operation and reporting into the Dyehouse Manager, the Dyehouse Shift Manager is expected to support with the delivery of Key Performance Indicators, including health & safety, quality, service, and cost.

Ensuring our department runs smoothly and effectively, the Dyehouse Shift Manager will have a forward planning mindset, being actively involved in creating a robust quality process that adheres to internal shade standards, yarn testing and compliance.

An ability to deliver coaching and training to maximise the skills of the team and develop continuous improvement using risk assessments and standard operating procedures are also key to this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • To support the department to adhere to business and legal H&S legislation requirements.

 

  • Be responsible for right “first time” quality for the dyehouse operation in support of the site Quality Management System.

 

  • Provide weekly capacity plan for loose, yarn, piece dye operation.

 

  • Develop dyehouse shade standards to deliver a standardized shade / yarn testing across internal / external processes, working closely with blending unit leader.

 

  • Lead daily update meetings which cover H&S, Quality, planning and improvement actions.

 

  • Contribute to the development of a 1 year plan for the dyehouse operation in conjunction with the business’s operational strategies for internal operational growth.

Skills and Experience 

The role requires a technical background with accredited relevant qualifications who can demonstrate their knowledge and experience in the field of textile colour chemistry.

The Dyehouse Shift Manager will have enthusiasm for leading others and / or some management experience together with the ability to think innovatively and support the management team in building a strategy.

You’ll have the ability to collaborate and coach other members of the team using a skills matrix and understand department costs and budgets. You will bring ideas and new thinking to help the team and the department continuously improve and you will be expected to have proficient Excel skills.
