Four Favourites: Interior Design Influencers
Sometimes, inspiration can be hard to come by. Creativity is a difficult thing to pin down (despite the best attempts of Edward De Bono…and Pinterest), and you can never have too many tools at your disposal to help along the way. This is why we are giving you four of our favourite blogs straight from the world of interior design, listed below.
‘Design Hunter is an award-winning UK design and lifestyle blog offering a daily edit of news, finds and inspiration. Created by Helen Powell, its aim is to feature beautiful interiors, interesting people, emerging trends and enduringly good design.’
A great variety of themes, with the monthly ‘Design Hunter loves…’, the weekly ‘Sunday Edition’, and emerging trend posts making Design Hunter an enduring favourite read. Crisp and clear interior ideas utilising affordable products.
‘I have a master’s degree in History, but I work as a stylist, photographer and art director. Every day I see so many lovely things in the Internet – interiors, art, fashion, styling, decoration – so I’ve decided to create 79 Ideas as a place where to collect all these things which I discover.’
What this self-description doesn’t let on is the pure goldmine that exists within 79 Ideas ‘interior’ tag; pages awash with beautifully elegant, minimally styled interors. Some entries are written in the author’s native Bulgarian, but the images speak for themselves.
‘I created the concept of Design Seeds as a way to bring a unique approach to design blogging through my passion for color. Beginning in art school and throughout my design career, i have created color palettes while collecting inspiration in journals. Design Seeds are a modern interpretation of these original colour journals.’
Something a bit different from the third blog in our must-follow list. These colour palettes provide fantastic interior colour inspiration from the simplest of everyday images – a doorway, an orchid, a dessert, you name it and chances are it has a Design Seeds palette to match.
DESIRE TO INSPIRE
‘Interior design junkies Kim & Jo met on Flickr, shared images they had bookmarked and well that was that. Desire to Inspire was born. Whether highlighting interior designers and decorators, architects, stylists, photographers or their own readers’ homes, Desire to Inspire aims to do just that.’
A more international flavour runs right through the Desire to Inspire posts and musings. From Sydney to Seoul, Copenhagen to Cornwall, here you can gather insight into stunning interiors the world over. After all that, you can take the time to enjoy the weekly ‘pets on furniture’ series.
